The ASUMH Bass Fishing Team is set to compete in the 13th Annual Lake Norfork Fireworks Bass Tournament this Saturday on Lake Norfork. This event serves as the primary fundraiser for the 41st Annual Independence Eve Fireworks Show. Landon Peeples and Bryson Huggins have spent the week pre-fishing and preparing, reporting strong results and quality catches leading up to the tournament. ASU-Mountain Home Baseball swept a four game series from the Greyhounds of ASU-Mid South.
The ASUMH Bass Fishing Team was back in action today on Table Rock Lake, where Landon Peeples and Bryson Huggins competed in the MLF Columbia PFG College Fishing Tournament. The team started strong, with Huggins landing a 2-pound keeper early to get on the board. Both anglers stayed consistent throughout the day, locating and catching fish, but were unable to secure additional bass that met the 15-inch minimum length requirement to complete a limit. Despite that, it was a strong overall effort. The team now shifts its focus to next weekend as they return to familiar waters on Norfork Lake for the Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Buddy Bass Tournament. ASU-Mountain Home baseball split a conference series with Southeast Arkansas to maintain their position in a tie for second place on the east side of region II.
The Bass Fishing Team had an outstanding performance this weekend at the 15th Annual Salem High School Beta Bass Tournament. Bryson Huggins and Landon Peeples brought in a full limit with a total weight of 11.78 lbs, finishing 22nd out of 60 teams. Despite the low lake level, it turned out to be a beautiful day on the water, and our team demonstrated the determination and skill it takes to locate and catch fish under challenging conditions.
